Educational History:

I graduated with honors from Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas in May of 1992.  After much life experience, I went back to school and in December of 2010, I graduated magna cum laude with an Associate of Arts degree from Northwest Arkansas Community College in Bentonville, Arkansas.  I then went on to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education in May of 2013.

Degrees and Certifications:

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.  While I majored in Elementary Education, I also hold certification in Early Childhood Education.

Professional Development:

I am Great Expectations certified.  This summer (2017) I attended a great workshop at the Mid-America Industrial Park where I had the opportunity to tour some of the factories, build a drone, and learn more about STEM learning and BMX.

Current Position:

This is my third year teaching third grade at Locust Grove Upper Elementary.  I was honored to be named the 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year for the Upper Elementary.  I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful school and the talented third grade team!

Previous Position:

I began my teaching career at Kenwood (K-8) School, where I taught Kindergarten for two years.  Before completeing my degree, I worked as an elementary school secretary in Rogers, Arkansas for five years.  Prior to that, I created training modules for new accounting software at the Walmart Accounting Home Office.

Family Information:

I have been married to my wonderful husband, Forrest, for six years.  I have two adult children and three adult step-children.  We have proudly rescued two fiesty dogs.  One is a Chihuahua and Scottish Terrier mix, whom we have aptly named Juan Connery (JuanCon for short).  The other is a Chihuahua mix (possibly Visla) named Boscoe.

Personal Information:

My husband and I love to attend plays and musicals.  (I may have been president of the drama club in high school!) We enjoy eating out and seeing movies.  I am also a fan of baseball, and like to take in games when I can.
